Selecting the hide
We hand-pick full-grain hides for natural grain, strength and character. Only the top 20% of hides make the cut.

Pattern & cutting
Patterns are cut by hand and skived to the exact thickness each panel needs — thick where it takes stress, thin where it folds.

Stitching
Reinforced seams and saddle-stitched stress points, using bonded nylon thread that outlasts the leather itself.

Edge finishing
Edges are bevelled, burnished and painted in multiple coats for a glass-smooth finish that won't crack.

Hardware & lining
Solid brass or nickel hardware, tested for 10,000+ cycles. Linings are cut and fitted by hand.

Quality check & embossing
Every piece is inspected twice before it is embossed with the SARTE mark and packed in a dust bag.

We only work with the top layer of the hide — the strongest, most beautiful part that develops a rich patina over years of use. Vegetable-tanned and chrome-tanned options are both available for private-label clients.
